History of Founder:

Otto Rondon was born in Venezuela. He performed in a family musical group since he Was 7 years old. His three brothers and four sisters and himself played traditional folkloric music at local community festivals. As a young teen he began to train as a Professional bullfighter, and this introduced him to Flamenco music. He then started studying classical Spanish guitar. He continued to sing and compose music. He moved to Aruba and founded a musical group that performed at local Hotels where he sang and played Latin American ballads, American music from the 70’s , and Brazilian Samba and Bossa Nova. He then moved to Atlanta Georgia in 1979.And bgan to play music at local restaurants, which he continues to do to  this day.

Company's History

TAHINO was formed in 1992 by Otto Rondon and other local performers who wanted to create a musical group that would teach children about Latin America while performing popular and traditional Latin American music. The musicians wanted to play a wide variety of musical instruments as well as teach many traditional dances. They also designed a large and colorful map of South and North America and the Caribbean to teach about each country.
